In today’s fast placed global business scenario, technology has become more vital than ever before. Its development and absorption are the key ingredients for the overall economic development of a nation. This is even more relevant in the context of developing countries where technological development and employment generation have to go hand in hand. With a view to foster the growth of the SME Sector in the country, MSME Tool Room, Kolkata (Central Tool Room & Training Centre an ISO 18001:2007 (OHSAS), ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 21001:2018 certified Centre, has been established in the year 1978 under Technical Co-operation Programme between Governments of India and Denmark. MSME Tool Room, Kolkata provides invaluable technological support to the Industry in the field of design, development and manufacturing of critical tools and components for different sector of industries like Defence, Aero-Space, DRDO, VECC including general engineering and ensures that Tool Room Technology keeps pace with the rapid growth of Industry including MSME Sector. Training Wing of the Centre is imparting training of Manpower in the field of Tool Engineering/Mechanical, civil, electrical and electronics including AICTE approved Engineering Diploma courses in Tool & Die Making, Mechatronics & Mechanical Engineering in addition to tailor-made courses for upgradation of knowledge and skill of already working manpower. Our students are placed in MNC in PAN India and abroad.
